A version of"Fortnite" is being played at the actual world. The movie game has 125 million players and a number of those gamers were surprised to find in-game items randomly popping up around the entire world. The game's iconic"Durr Burger" mascot showed up in the midst of a desert in California and a cop car stylized as though it was ripped straight from the game.
There was an interactive component. In that same California desert, a broker was handing out business cards. On the cards were telephone numbers, and if"Fortnite materials" lovers predicted, they noticed a strange sound. Messages in the audio file's metadata revealed the coordinates of the past"Fortnite" llama in Paris, according to Reddit.
Gamers were flocking to these locations to discover if there weren't any hints or clues about the fifth season of"Fortnite," which was released in July 2018. That's because every season of"Fortnite" is vastly different and it's kept top secret until its release date. There are new topics, new websites to explore, new character skins and there are fresh weekly challenges.
This time, Epic Games, which publishes"Fortnite," decided to tease the new gaming world by putting these attributes into the actual world.It's a viral marketing strategy called an alternate reality game or ARG. (Not to be mistaken with virtual reality, where you're immersed into fortnite weapons a computer-generated planet, or augmented reality, where perceptible images are projected on top of real-world movie.)
